Fool for Books Giveaway Hop!

Seriously, I am the lamest trickster around.  You'd think I could come up with something "foolish" on the fooly-ish of all days.  My only claim to doing something extraordinary on April Fool's Day is -- give birth!!  My youngest son turns 5 years old today!  So, in addition to giving away a book, I am also in the midst of baking a birthday cake and wrapping presents!  Happy Birthday my baby boy!

Now to the necessary stuff...

Thanks to Kathy at I am a Reader and Not a Writer, and Belinda at The Bookish Snob for co-hosting this event!

What does one giveaway on April Fool's Day?  I would think something funny?   LOL, ROTF, kind of stuff, right?

So, for this giveaway, I'm offering a book from one of the funniest writers I've read!

I have ONE paperback copy of Jen Lancaster's Bright Lights, Big Ass to offer!

Bright Lights, Big Ass by Jen Lancaster: Book Cover

I'm tired, cold, and sleepy, so I'm making the entry as easy as possible -- fill out the attached form, become a follower, and in the comments section, tell me the CRAZIEST trick you've ever pulled off on April Fool's Day, and voila, you are DONE!

Giveaway is open April 1-2nd
(I will pick a winner via random.org at 10pm on Saturday night, and notify the winner via email; they then have 24 hours to contact me, otherwise, I will select another winner).

  1. This book sounds hilarious -- would love to win.

I don't know how crazy this is but once I moved my supervisor's desk chair and all her stuff(only the stuff ON her desk) to a CSR's desk and vice versa.

  2. Sadly, I've never really been able to come up with a trick good enough for April Fool's Day :/ Unless you count countless prank calls when I was a kid.. :)

  6. April fool's when I was 17 my mother and I were at a coffee shop and I decided to fool her, so I told her I was pregnant and I was soooo convincing that I had to take a test after we left to prove I wasn't lol
Talk about an April Fool's joke that freaked her out and backfired on me lol

  7. great giveaway...I've never done a fun trick. I know, I know, how sad. But honestly, I'm pretty gullible and I don't like being tricked so I wouldn't want to do something outrageous to someone else.

  8. Gosh the only prank I ever did was when I made my niece throw ( I can't remember if it was a bucket or something like that) down the stairs and then start yelling I'd fallen down. So there I am on the floor fake crying and my niece is yelling her head off when my brother comes running like crazy to see whats wrong. He was so freaked out I couldn't stand it and burst out laughing I though it was too funny that is until my mom came over and started yelling at me (she was so mat me lol) but yeah I promised never to do some thing like that again, and that's the only April fools prank I did.

    as always ♥, Carol

  15. The craziest thing I ever tried to do on April Fool's Day (it's lame so don't get your hopes up) was to unscrew the cap of the salt on the table so that when someone tried to shake the salt the lid came off and all the salt came out! It's seemed funny to me at the time (I was 9).

  16. Our marketing team once took an obnoxious sales rep's office & filled it floor to ceiling with crumpled newspaper while he was on vacation, with my boss's approval!
Best wishes and thanks for a chance to win this wonderful giveaway!

  18. I Saran-wrapped the toilet seat when my best friends were over for the night. One of them had to go during the night and found a nasty surprise. It was hilarious, well after she stopped screaming at me.

  19. I'm pretty lame when it comes to April Fools' Day, but I nearly gave my mother a heart attack once. I was 22, living on my own in England and I called her, and using my most serious/scared voice told her I was pregnant and that I didn't know who the father was.

The next thing I knew, my dad was on the phone and I could hear my mom crying in the background. So.. maybe not so crazy as cruel? My mom didn't speak to me for a few weeks, my dad however, found it all quite amusing.
