In stead of a "Halloween Party" at school today, they had "Dress Up As Your Favorite Literary Character Day" for their Accelerated Reading program.
I was thrilled when my 8 yr old wanted to be Tacy, from the Betsy-Tacy series!!
We pulled a costume from the theatre costume shop -- since her mother DOES NOT under any circumstance, sew.
I think she looks good!

I had a set of children's books when I was a kid that was kind of like reader's digest, it had a mixture of stories and chapters from books. One of the stories was "Betsy, Tacy, and Tib Are Ten". I never realized that it was from an actual book. I'll have to look them up. Tacy was my favorite, too, and when I was young I wanted to someday name my daughter Anastacia and call her Tacy.
So cute. I've never read Betsy Tacy so I'm going to have to now.
She looks darling.
